Church Planter Steve and his wife Gift (pictured above with 2 of their kids), have been connecting with the Syke community for over two years, have recruited a small team and a wider pool of interested people and are looking to confirm a venue in which to meet for church.

2 of this team are on our current REAP Church Planting Course (pictured above), learning with others from across the Network. More details on REAP are available by clicking here.
Whilst they search for a suitable venue to meet for church, Steve and 1 of his team are running a CAP money course to help local people with budgeting skills and debt issues, and this begins on Monday 28th February, starting at Syke Community Base.

To be added to Steve's E-Mailing List For more information about the CAP Money Course (either attending or volunteering), or to find out about joining Steve and Gift's Launch team, please contact Steve directly on .

Positioned more centrally in Rochdale than Syke, two of our team at Good News Community Church have changed roles since the New Year. Ram, a Nepalese missionary who is living in Rochdale with his wife Keshari, is now leading GNCC, whereas Dylan has switched to an Evangelist role, based primarily in Rochdale but also working for Antioch in Oldham. They and the wider team are working closely together to reach and disciple new people.

GNCC continues to rent space at the Parish church of our friends St Luke's Deeplish, meeting at 3pm on Sundays and currently welcoming people from England, Ireland, India, China, Romania, Iran and Malaysia. This gives us, says GNCC leader Ram, a "taste of Heaven" where there will be represented people from "every nation, tribe, people and language" (Revelation 5:9).
GNCC continues to run a book stall in Rochdale on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (weather permitting), to befriend asylum seekers and refugees who are connecting with the church, and they are also looking to find new ways to connect with the local community from social activities through to evangelism and discipleship.
GNCC leader Ram had this to say recently,
"We are thankful to the Lord that He has sustained us to continue the ministry He has blessed us with. We are really thankful to our praying friends and supporters who stood by us in prayers, finance and also visiting us in person..."
"As the Bible says, 'The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field'. Yes, the days and times we are in, or even the place where God has commissioned us to go to, seems stony ground where the works of God are not taking any roots. But through the power of the Holy Spirit, He has enabled us to be His witnesses and our efforts will not be in vain."
