Reach the Area

This is not as much a list of how-to’s, as much as a series of feelings, and attitudes about the way you do evangelism. It’s based on the idea that God is constantly working, constantly changing the world around us.   We’ve seen this clearly during COVID19.   God has been at work in unexpected ways.  There are things that we thought were secure and settled which have been disturbed, and people that we thought God couldn’t touch who God has changed completely.

We can fall into thinking that if we’re nice enough, offer people community, then they will join the community, and somehow they will come to believe.    And so we sometimes hold back from telling people the message.    We can pull our punches, lack clarity, and don’t present the truth.     It’s important to keep immersing ourselves in the truth that the gospel is power of God for the salvation of all who believe, not our own good qualities...

  1. Cold contact - that could include knocking on doors, talking to people on the streets and running social media advertising campaigns
  2. Running Programmes - that could include a toddler group, a job club or a food bank
  3. Inviting your friends - that is self-explanatory, but John argues that this is the most sustainable of the 3 choices.
